I wrote “Upon A Wheel of Cloud” for The Huntsville Master Chorale under the direction of Dr. Patricia Ramirez-Hacker. The poetry by Emily Dickinson provides fertile imagery from which my music could easily emerge. The setting portrays a violent storm. It ends with a grand finale– “And then like Elijah, rode away upon a wheel of cloud”.
The Angels’ Carol
I wrote this Christmas Carol in 2003 when I was a junior at The University of Southern Mississippi. At the time, I was the Director of Music at Ellisville First United Methodist Church as a part of an entire Christmas cantata for choir and orchestra.
